Medi-Cal Administrative ActivitiesMC Logo

The MAA program allows school districts and county offices to be reimbursed federal dollars for costs incurred while performing certain administrative activities. Employees record the time worked on these activities weekly, and then a claim is submitted based on this information. You do not need to know if a student is Medi-Cal eligible.

Such activities might include:
  • Medi-Cal outreach
  • Facilitating the Medi-Cal application
  • Non-emergency, non-medical transportation of Medi-Cal eligible individuals to Medi-Cal services
  • Contracting for Medi-Cal services
  • Program planning and policy development
  • MAA coordination and claims administration
Medi-Cal providers within your school include Psychologists, Counselors, Nurses, and Speech & Language Specialists. Staff involvement is a great asset to the students of Natomas USD. Not only are the students receiving the care they need to stay healthy, the reimbursement received from participation in this program goes back to participants' classrooms and our district.

trainingIn order for you to participate in the survey weeks, each participant is required to attend a mandatory annual training. It is recommended that you complete the time survey for the first three quarters of each school year.

Annual trainings are generally held in August with additional trainings for new participants throughout the year. If your schedule does not permit you to attend a scheduled training and you would like to participate in the program, we would be happy to set up a training time that is convenient for you, either at the Education Center or at your school. Please allow 45 minutes to one hour for this training. Please contact Tracy Cole by email or at 916.561.5278

This program is to help to keep our students healthy and helping them to obtain medical attention when they may not otherwise have the resources. Healthy students = better learners.

Time Survey: A time survey recording daily activities is filled out by a trained participant one week per quarter (these weeks are determined by the Department of Health Care Services). Participants may complete the survey on line at www.easymaa.org (recommended) or by hard copy. A printable copy of the form is attached if you choose to complete by hard copy: Blank time survey form
