Dear H. Allen Hight Elementary School Community:
We are now in the last month of the school year. It is amazing to see how far we have come this year. We have really been working hard to inspire, motivate, and encourage our students to learn. We have offered extended learning opportunities including Saturday School, Assemblies, and Field Trips.
As we conclude the school year please feel free to help us finish strong by volunteering in the classroom, on field trips, and during our special end of the year activities. We can always use assistance in these events.
Our Open House will be on Thursday, May 16, 2013 at 6:00 p.m. in our multipurpose room. I will be meeting with parents to discuss our accomplishments this year and our plans for next year. Parents will have an opportunity to visit classrooms from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m.
It has certainly been an honor to work with our students and staff this year. We have certainly increased student learning on campus and we have provided education for over 800 students. We understand that we still have some work to do with our students but we are excited about our progress so far.
You will begin to see a changing educational philosophy in our school as we move in to the International Baccalaureate Program. We will have more professional learning communities with an increase in collaboration and professional development. In addition, our students will become more independent thinkers and problem solvers.
We have a lot to be proud of and a lot to look forward to next year.
